Dark Days

Lightning seems to be striking everywhere. Twice.

Today I was going to ask if cheques were redundant.
But given what’s happening in Christchurch, this seems callously frivolous.
I kept babbling through the recent floods, fires and cyclones.
Why stop now?
Good question.
Maybe it’s the sheer accumulation of tragedies.

Or the fact they’re happening all round us.
Maybe it’s the [...]

Assault the Battery

It took ten minutes, but I got the damn thing out. Unfortunately.

You know you’re getting old when you say, ‘In my day’.
Last week was my first time.
It was triggered by a trifling incident.
But one with big implications for business.

                                                      It only takes one …

As a reader of this blog, you’re probably a switched-on operator with an eye for detail, a superior work ethic and a low tolerance for nonsense.
Is it not maddening, therefore, when despite your most careful and comprehensive efforts, very important things go awry due to someone or something down the [...]

Favourite Things

                                                 Happy happy. Joy joy.

Thank you for weathering my recent rants.
Having had a Bex and a good lie down, I’m in a much happier frame this week.
To celebrate, I’ve listed some of my favourite things.
Things that make owning and running a business worth all the aggro and pain.
Things that keep me at the grindstone [...]
